Ev; aynı zamanda hem belli bir kimliği ve aidiyeti temsil eden, hem de mahremiyeti olan özerk bir alandır. Bu özerk alanın topografyasını çıkarmak için ölçülebilir tüm verileri tespit etmek, sabitlemek ve bunu gerçekleştirirken de bir strateji oluşturmak gerekir.
4/12, başlangıçta tüm bu verilerden; yüzölçümü, adım ölçümü, ısı ölçümü gibi elde edilmiş ölçülebilir verilerden yola çıkarak ilerlemiş, daha sonrasında ise mekanın tüm anlam ve temsillerini kapsayan bir araştırma alanına dönüşmüştür. İstanbul’da, Türkiye’de ya da daha geniş bir perspektifle Dünya’daki bir noktadır ev. Makro olandan merkeze, mikro olana doğru yeniden yaklaştığımızda mekan kimlik kazanır; içinde yaşayan kişinin tüm hayatını, mahremiyetini, inancını, milletini, ırkını ve tüm aidiyetini tanımlar.
Diğer bir bakışla ev, bireyin dışında kendi ruhu olan bir mekandır. Bu noktada tuğlalardan örülmüş duvarların ötesinde görünmeyen yeni bir mekan algısı ve saklı bir bellek ortaya çıkar. Bu bellek, bireyin kişisel tarihine de şahitlik eden, mekanın kendi belleğidir. Bu, zamanın tozudur.
7 Aralık 2011’de Daire Sanat’da gerçekleşecek “4/12: Bir Ev’in Topografyası” isimli sergi, izleyiciyi “ev”e çağırıyor.
Bu proje; “ev”e dair bir araştırma ve dökümantasyon projesidir. “4/12: Bir Ev’in Topografyası” isimli sergi ise, projenin ilk aşamasını oluşturmaktadır.
Home is an autonomic space which symbolizes a certain identity and belonging and alsoprivacy at the same time. In order to obtain the topography of this independent area, all themeasureable data has to be collected, fixed and a strategy must be created simultaneously.
At the beginning, the project 4/12 has been developed by all these measurable data likemeasure of area square, measure of temperatures and number of steps from one placeto another; then it has been transformed into an exploration that includes all contents andrepresentations of the place. Home is a point in Istanbul, in Turkey and on earth by an extendedperspective. A place gets an identity when we get close again from macro to micro -the center-,and it defines existence, privacy, belief, nation and race of the person who lives inside.
On the other hand, home is a place with its own soul even without the individual. At this pointa new perception and a hidden memory of the place becomes relevant beyond the knittedbrick walls. That memory is home’s own memory that bears witness to the individual’s personalhistory. It’s the dust of time.
The exhibition called “4/12: Topography of a Home” which can be viewed at Daire Art Gallerystarting on 7 December 2011 invites the audience to “home”.
This project is an exploration and documentation process about “home”. The exhibition called “4/12: Topography of a Home” will be the first step of this project.
