Papergirl, katılımcı, analog, ticari kaygı taşımayan dağıtım sistemli bir sanat projesi. Proje Alman sanatçı Aisha Ronniger tarafından 2006 yılında, Amerika’da gazete dağıtımı yapan paperboy’lardan esinlenilerek Berlin'de geliştirildi. 5 yıl içinde proje büyük bir başarı ile büyüdü ve global bir genç sanatçı ağı haline geldi. Bugüne kadar 4 kıtaya yayılan, 12 ülkede ve 26 farklı şehirde gerçekleştirilen proje, her gün başka bir şehrin bu ağa katılmasıyla büyümeye devam ediyor!
Papergirl İstanbul’un aşamaları ise şu şekilde:
Sergi: Açık çağrı duyurusu üzerine gönderilen eserler Milk Gallery’de 26 Mayıs – 9 Haziran 2011 tarihleri arasında sergilenecek.
Aksiyon: Oluşturulan bir bisiklet grubuyla geçeceğimiz güzergah üzerinde, karşılaştıkları bireylere ayırım yapmadan gönderilen sanat eserlerini hediye edeceğiz.
Workshop ve Sanatçı Konuşmaları: 28 Mayıs 2011’de Milk Gallery’de gerçekleşmesi planlanıyor. Workshop çalışmasında kamusal alanda üretim yapan sanatçılar bir araya gelerek ortak üretimde bulunacaklar. Sanatçı konuşmasındaysa sanatçılar kamusal alanda üretim konusunda sanat takipçileri ve genç sanatçılarla bilgi ve deneyimlerini paylaşacaklar.

Papergirl is, in essence, a mail-art and delivery systems art project that is participatory, analogue, non-commercial, and impulsive. Papergirl project is founded by Aisha Ronniger from Berlin, in 2006. In the next 5 years it grew and grew with a great success and became a global young artist network. This project has spread to 4 continents, took place on 20 cities in 12 different countries and keeps on getting bigger with every new city!
The steps of Papergirl Istanbul is like this:
Exhibition: Artwork sent after the open call will be exhibited at Milk Gallery on May 26th-June 9th 2011.
Action: As a team with bikes, we will give the the submitted artwork to the people we run into, as presents!
Workshop and Artist Talk: On May 28th 2011 at Milk Gallery. During the workshop artists who work on public spaces will come together and perform collaborative artwork. And in artist talk phase, artists will share information and experience with young artists, art-trackers and students.
Artist Books: Books edited with artworks of 10 artists who take part in Papergirl project will be published at the same period of the exhibition. It will carry on with different artists after the exhibition process.
