Bellek Mekanları
Bellek Mekanları” isimli seri 12 resimden oluşan bir çalışmadır. Temel olarak, yakın tarihimize ve toplumsal belleğimize dair hem mimari olarak yapıların imajlarını hem de birer bellek mekanı olarak aynı bağlamda ele alabileceğimiz nesne ve imgeleri içerir. Tüm bu imgeler, iktidarın yıkıcı gücünün temsillerini oluşturmaktadır. Söz konusu iktidar ve yarattığı hegemonik yapı; Gramci’nin de vurguladığı üzere kimi zaman hükümet, askeriye ya da doğrudan siyasi yapılanmalar üzerinden gerçekleşebileceği gibi farklı görünümler ve farklı formlarda da karşımıza çıkabilmektedir.
Seride yeralan 12 resim gravür tekniğiyle üretilmiştir ve yatay yönde ters basılmışlardır. Buradaki görsellerin bir aynadan bakarcasına ters üretilmiş olması; kamusal olanın belleğimizdeki karşılığı niteliğindedir. Üretim süreci öncelikle çizimleri yapılmış, daha sonra ise asit indirme yöntemi ile çizgilerin dışbükey gofre olarak elde edilebilmesi için çinko plakalar hazırlanmış ve boya kullanılmadan sadece beyaza beyaz çizgilerin görülebileceği yüzeyler oluşturulmuştur. Tekniğin bellek mekanlarıyla ilişkisi, imgelerin tarihselliği ve egemen söylemin gelişim sürecine dair bellek ile doğrudan ilişkilidir.
Spaces of Memory
The series titled ‘’Spaces of Memory’’ is an artwork composed of twelve paintings. Basically, it includes objects and images that we can approach both as images of constructions in an architectural sense and as spaces of memory in relation with our recent history and social memory. All these images form representations of the subversive maelstrom of the government. This government in question and the hegemonic structure it creates, as Gramsci also marks, can face us with different appearances and different forms, as well as being realized in terms of state, military or directly through political organizations.
The twelve paintings in the series are created by etching and printed reverse horizontal. The direction of these images reveals the reflection of public spheres on our minds. During the production process, first the drawings are created, and then zinc plates are prepared for the lines to become a convex intaglio by submerging them in acid, and surfaces where only the white lines are visible are created without using any paint. The relation of the technique with the spaces of memory is directly related to the historicity of image and the collective memory about the improvement process of the dominating discourse.
